app selected for Port of Seattle's SeaTac Low Voltage Upgrade Project

New entry of Seattle International Airport

app was recently selected to provide general contractor/construction management (GCCM) services forThe Port of Seattle’s SeaTac Low Voltage Upgrade project. Valued at $80M, the project will upgrade andreplace the electrical infrastructure atSeattle’s Main Terminal.

The main terminal at SeaTac is a series of buildings, additions, renovations, and upgrades that have been completed since the original construction in 1949. The purpose of this project is to spend significant effort in investigating the existing condition and layout of the electrical systems in the Main Terminal, design cost-effective replacement solutions that minimize the shutdown impact to end users and passenger experience, and then proceed to implement the upgrades to provide a safer, more robust and reliable electrical system for this critical public facility for the Puget Sound region.

Construction is estimated to commence by the end of 2021, with a 42-month construction period to follow and completion in mid-2025.

The app team also delivered thedesign-build Port Alternate Utility Facility project, wherephasing played a critical role in the success of the project, ensuring the airport never lost the utility feed from the South Substation.
